Hi, I'm Andy

Welcome to Groomies! I'm a mobile dog groomer who brings the salon experience straight to your door. Groomies is a solo operation — when you book with me, you get me, every time. No strangers, no kennels, no stress for your pup.

I'm a fully trained and certified dog groomer, having completed the Pet Stylist Course through Dog Diversity — an industry-certified program covering everything from grooming foundations through to full pet styling. So every groom you book is backed by proper training, not just experience.

My love of dogs isn't new — I've had a deep connection with them since I was a kid. I've spent years fostering dogs and working as a dog sitter — experiences that gave me a deep understanding of dog behaviour, temperament, and what it takes to make them feel truly comfortable. A lot of it comes down to energy: dogs can read mine, and I can read theirs, and that's often what puts even the most anxious pup at ease.

Outside of grooming, I chair the board of Dog Rescue Inc., an Australian charity dedicated to helping vulnerable dogs in the places that need it most — including Romania and Ukraine, where millions of stray dogs face hunger, neglect, and danger every day. I've held that role since 2018, and it comes from the same place as Groomies: a genuine belief that every dog deserves the best.

Before grooming, I spent years as a software engineer. But as the tech landscape kept shifting, I found myself drawn toward something I cared about far more deeply — the wellbeing of dogs. Grooming lets me combine hands-on skill with real connection, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
